Dive technicians are responsible for maintaining full maintenance, test and recertification records and keeping spares at the required levels, and for recording all recertification, calibration and testing in the Planned Maintenance System and aligning that with the live DESIGN D023 documents. They are responsible for all repair and refurbishment required.
They will ensure any changes to equipment or systems are fully authorised, supported by drawings and technical documentation in accordance with the Company’s engineering procedures.
Equipment used to support, and conduct diving operations requires technicians for its installation, maintenance, inspection, testing and repair. The correct functioning of the equipment is essential to the well-being of the divers and other members of the dive team.
DUC Diving will provide in a letter of appointment the type of equipment and operation (i.e. surface supplied air or nitrox), together with any specific limitations, on which the individual may work. The letter of appointment may also specify the vessel or worksite on which an individual may work as a dive technician. The dive technician should continue to participate in the employer’s competence assurance and assessment scheme. This will include appropriate training plans to ensure adequate refresher training, training on new equipment or worksites and competence assessments.

testing and certification of diving plant and equipment – and DESIGN
Company designated schedules
1.4 Tasks
Accurately complete documentation to record work undertaken
Communicate effectively with dive supervisor, divers, marine personnel and deck crew
Contribute to risk assessments for all safety critical areas
Engage actively in handovers, safety briefings, improvement projects coaching, etc.
Engage personally with safety principles and culture
Follow certification systems procedures to ensure compliance with certification requirements
Follow company and manufacturer procedures in breakdown situations
